ALLPAMAMAS IS NOW KAYAMAMAS
We are Kayamamas, the women of tomorrow. A community woven together by the act of making clothes. We are embroiderers, wool spinners, designers, weavers, seamstresses and communicators.
From the Andes mountains of Ecuador we see the sun rise behind mountains and volcanoes, blessed with hope for a better tomorrow. This is where our name comes from - Kaya means tomorrow in Kichwa, the native language of our home.
We’re a group of diverse ages and cultures. We are co-workers, who also feel like each other’s sisters, grandmothers, mothers and daughters, as it happens amongst women. There is always something new to learn, food to taste, music to dance to. We love experimenting with textiles and colors, telling stories, and celebrating birthdays.
Today, we make more than clothing. What glues us together is using our hands and collective wisdom to express our creativity with love for those who use our products.

ENVIRONMENTAL
Our designs and production model honor our Mother Earth, taking into account how to best serve her in every step of the process.
For each collection we use natural fibers, upcycled materials and organic dyeing recipes passed down by the grandmothers.
Each piece is designed with a zero waste result in mind.

SOCIAL
Through our work, we aim to reclaim artisanal craft as the worthy and fairly paid profession that it once was within the communities that we work with.
This direct source of income enables women artisans in the countryside to preserve their generational craft as opposed to having to leave their land in search of employment in the city.

CULTURAL
We work with women who carry the craftsmanship of their ancestors; a knowledge that remains from Ecuador's time as a renown source for quality handmade textiles.
Many of these techniques are in risk of disappearing - we'd like to change that.
CLOTHES ARE OUR SKIN & ARMOUR
Our garments are designed to be functional, comfortable and, above all, long-lived. They are carefully assembled by hand with top quality materials; remaining healthy and good-looking throughout their lives.
All of our designs are born out of a co-creation between designers and artisans. Together we create our own interpretation of the world around us and let it live in our textiles.
